Lucky Milk is Stephanie Ibarra and Anna Torzullo: a writing and directing duo based in Brooklyn, NY.
Their partnership began at Emerson College, where they both earned a BA in Media Arts Production. It was there that their seeds of artistic camaraderie were sown, blossoming into the hive-mind collaboration that they share today.
United by a shared devotion to the delightfully bizarre, Ibarra & Torzullo have honed a distinctive lens through which they view the world – one that's colorful, darkly comedic, and imbued with a touch of surrealism and magical realism.
Among their credits stands the short film Egg, which earned the Audience Award at the LESFF, named in GrrlHaus' Best of 2022, and is featured on NoBudge. Their portfolio includes vibrant narrative-driven music videos for a growing list of independent artists, including Camp Saint Helene and Charles Rojas.
In their individual spheres, Stephanie Ibarra works as an Editor and Assistant Editor. Her distinct style has most recently been featured in Rraine Hanson’s Mooncake (2022), which was screened at NewFest and Outfest. Anna Torzullo, a stop-motion animator and miniature fabricator, had her short News News News, featured in the We The Women Collective Wake/Rebirth 2020 series.
The duo is currently in post-production for two short films, Todo el Tiempo en el Mundo, and Boat Movie. Lucky Milk is producing its first feature, written and directed by Ethan Fuirst, shooting in the Adirondack Mountains this summer.
You may also find them performing comedy together around Brooklyn or at their favorite venue in Catskill, NY, the Avalon Lounge, where they’ve opened for comedian Chris Gethard. Last year, they helped organize and performed at the inaugural The Catskills Comedy Festival, where you can catch them performing again this October.
